What do I need?

A laptop and smartphone are essential. You’ll be using them both a lot over the weekend, so make sure they’re both fully charged and that you also bring the chargers with you.

Will food be provided?

Yes. You can bring your own nibbles if you like, but Demium will lay on sandwiches for Friday afternoon, breakfast and some snacks Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. You can find near places to have lunch on Saturday and Sunday or you can bring your own food.

What’s the plan for the weekend?

Our AllStartup Weekend provides a great opportunity for you to test your mettle in the fast-paced world of startups. In just three days (Friday to Sunday) you’ll take part in essential workshops, such as learning how to formulate business plans and put them into action, form a core team and, with help from Demium mentors, put together a pitch. Sunday is showtime, when you put all your new-found skills to good use and pitch your business to the Demium panel. The winning team will be invited to join our six-month incubation programme. Don’t worry if your team doesn’t make it, as we’ll also be keeping an eye out for particularly adept individuals over the course of the weekend, who will have another opportunity to build a team and present an idea in the first two weeks of the programme.

It’ll be high-energy and highly unique – you won’t be forgetting this experience any time soon.

What happens with any photos taken during the weekend?

We do take photos and videos during the AllStartup event, which we may use in social media during the weekend, or for marketing or promotional purposes in the future. You’ll be asked for permission to use your image when you accept this invitation. Obviously we’d love for you to say yes – but no pressure! And if you want to get in on the action across your own social networks, use the #AllStartup hashtag.

Who else will be there?

Likeminded folk who are just as talented and motivated as you. Before the weekend you can introduce yourself to everyone in a LinkedIn group and then you’ll have the chance to get to know each other in a speed dating style event on day one. After that you’ll be matched with your team members, taking into account your feedback. So don’t be shy, be positive and remember that everyone is in the same boat.

What if my team doesn’t win?

As we mentioned during the Group Dynamics session, the Demium panel will only select one winning team. However, they will also select a handful of standout individuals. All the winners are then invited to participate in the incubation programme. Winners will be announced on the Sunday afternoon.
